MATING HABIT Females lay up to 20000 eggs each time
FEEDING HABIT Bite causes intense irritation
  Risk of secondary bacterial infection
  and entry of screw-worm maggots
  Blood loss in infested areas
  Causes tick paralysis
HOSTS

Domestic mammals: cattle, horses,

  goats, sheep, deer,cats and dogs
  May target poultry
  High infestation in cattle pastures
  All stages attack humans
DISEASES Francisella tularensis (tularemia),
